Long known for  its Italian ties and strong  appeal to both the international as well as U.S. cruise markets, Costa Cruises has been using its marketing theme, “Cruising Italian Style” for years. Costa is known as “Europe’s # 1 Cruise Line” because its ships sail year round offering Eastern and Western Mediterranean itineraries. Other year round itineraries include the Far East and the Canary Islands.  But some other enticing factors for groups include its other diverse  itineraries – Costa Cruises was the first cruise line to home port in Dubai, for instance, and they offer seasonal sailings to other destinations.

Costa’s ships offer a European flair, and Italian style themes with the use of extensive marble in their designs. In addition, Costa Cruises has led the way with new innovations, including  new amenities called “C Wonders.” These include  a 4D cinema (touch, sight, scent and sound come together for  a unique and thrilling cinematic experience) and their Grand Prix race car driving simulators.   Another feature where  Costa Cruises has led the way  includes their special  Samsara Spa accommodations, first launched on the Costa Concordia in 2006. It was the first in the Costa fleet to have designated spa accommodations offering direct access to the 20, 450 square foot spa as well as featuring their Samsara Restaurant, and now this is featured on many of  Costa’s newest ships.

Ships within the Costa fleet (15 ships including the Costa Favolosa’s debut summer of 2011)  vary in size as well as passenger capacity.  The Costa Fascinosa debuts in spring 2012.  Currently Costa’s ships offer cruise programs from 6 nights and longer.  Itinerary destinations include the Eastern and Western Caribbean, Trans Atlantic, Eastern/Western Mediterranean, Baltic, Russia, Red Sea and Dubai, and South America.
