Launched in 1990, Celebrity Cruises is characterized by a more refined cruise experience, European-style service, expansive staterooms, the largest spas afloat and cuisine that has been critically acclaimed, and their ships are ideal for groups.

Exceptional dining was one of Celebrity’s early strengths, thanks to Master Chef Michel Roux, a well-recognized French chef who designed all of Celebrity’s menus and trained staff in a successful partnership that lasted until 2007. Celebrity Cruises then hired a new culinary consultant to launch new cuisine and menus on all of Celebrity’s ships, which is under the direction of Chef Jacques Van Staden, Vice President of Culinary Operations.

In late 2008 the line launched a new class of ship, “Solstice class” with the Celebrity Solstice, followed by the Celebrity Equinox (2009), Celebrity Eclipse (2010) and Celebrity Silhouette (2011.)  The fifth “Solstice class” ship, Celebrity Reflection, debuts in 2012.  Expanding on the success that Celebrity Cruises has had from its very beginnings, this new class of ship was the first ship to offer real green grass at sea with its Lawn Club as well as special AquaClass stateroom categories.

Always known for expansive staterooms even in the least expensive categories, Celebrity Cruises decided to increase the size of staterooms on “Solstice class” ships and introduced some new options as well. Staterooms on these ships are 15% larger than those on the other Celebrity ships, and feature additional storage for guests, modular furniture and improved stateroom flow. In addition, Celebrity Cruises has a new interlocking technology that features double sets of doors on connecting staterooms. This allows guests the option of opening up the space for families and friends traveling together.

Celebrity ships also feature martini bars, champagne bars, and a wide variety of activities onboard, known as “Celebrity Life,” and their own AquaSpa operated by Elemis, a division of Steiner. The “Solstice class” ships were the first to launch their new AquaClass staterooms which are located adjacent to the Aqua Spa and include complimentary dining at the exclusive specialty restaurant, “Blu.”  In addition to traditional dining in their elegantly appointed main dining rooms and casual dining options, there are also are alternative restaurants on board each of their ships, each offering different styles of cuisine.  The newest is “Qsine” onboard Celebrity Eclipse.

In addition to the Celebrity “Solstice class” ships, there are also Celebrity’s “Millennium class” ships, the unique Celebrity XPedition, and the Celebrity Century.

Celebrity Cruises offers sailings to Alaska, Bermuda, Canada and New England, the Caribbean, Europe and Mediterranean, Galapagos, Panama Canal and South America.
